LHR to DXB

So after what seems like months of planning and gearing up (and still everything was all a bit last minute), here I am at Heathrow about to depart for Dubai finally. From Pewsey I was here and checked in all in about 2 hours (even blagging a First Class upgrade on the Heathrow Express - no such luck with Emirates though), which means I've had plenty of time to kill in Terminal 3. Not much to report other than you can buy Marmite and Heinz Ketchup at the till in WHSmiths, presumably because these items are difficult to come by outside of the UK. Not ever noticed that before.
Luckily the bags got through check in ok - I was pretty sure they were over 30kg but the check in lady didn't say anything. She did sort me out with an exit row seat which is pretty essential so happy about that.
Plenty of time for lunch and a Guinness before heading to the gate and boarding the A380. I'll be landing at about 3.20am I think so it'll be cab to the hotel and straight to bed when I arrive. I've got tomorrow to sleep in and take it easy before starting work on Sunday morning.
So long UK, here's hoping the sun is shining when I return in a few months time...
